On May 31, Concord Records and Provogue Records (Europe) will release The Traveler, an album of experience and profound resonance by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. Recorded in Los Angeles, while the band was on a break from their uncompromising tour schedule that left them road-tested and ready to rock, The Traveler showcases some world-class musicians: vocalist Noah Hunt, drummer Chris “Whipper” Layton, bassist Kevin McCormick, and keyboardists Joe Krown and Jimmy McGorman. The album features ten songs including eight new originals co-written by KWS, plus incendiary covers of Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul” and Joe Walsh’s “Turn to Stone.”

　はたして日本で、このCD持ってる人は何人くらいいるのだろう。いや、いるのかな。Kenny Wayne Shepherd band の Voの Noah Hunt が、おそらく自主制作で2008年にリリースされてたアルバムで、Noah Hunt のソウルフルなヴォーカルとアコースティックギターとピアノが印象に残ります。中でも10曲目のピアノから始まるバラード "Angel In The Dark" が、7月にリリースされた Kenny Wayne Shepherd band のニューアルバム Lay It On Down に収録されていても全然違和感のない曲で、ベクトルが同じ方向性を向いているようにも思う。Noah Hunt 良い声してる。
