BEST にまでサイン入りと嬉しい誤算です! さらに、ギターピックとステッカー2種類付きで送られてきました。John Waite は、Bad English 以降の活動を追い続けているお気に入りのヴォーカリストで、Bad English 以降のソロアルバムはほぼほぼ持っているかと思います。今回入手した3部作は持ってなく初めて聴くので新鮮でした。BEST は、リリースしたときの権利関係などもあるかとは思いますが、Temple Bar に収録されている "How Did I Get By Without You?" , "Price Of My Tears" , "In God's Shadow" , "The Glittering Prize"、When You Were Mine に収録されている "When You Were Mine" , "Suicide Life" , "Show Me How To Love You" 、Figure In A Landscape に収録されている "Thinking About You" , "Fly" , "Special One" などは、いかにも John Waite らしい、彼の声に合った曲で是非とも聴いてもらいたい曲です。Bad English の後にリリースされた最初のソロアルバムが Temple Bar で次が When You Were Mine で次が Figure In A Landscape で、Figure In A Landscape は日本盤もリリースされ、この3枚は今でも聴いているお気に入りのアルバムです。最近ではアートにも力を入れているようで Wooden Heart Anthology Vol 1, 2, 3 のアートワークは John Waite によって描かれてます。BEST に収録されている、アルバム Rough & Tumble に収録されている "If You Ever Get Lonely" は、いかにも John Waite らしい曲です!
