2004年にも2曲の新曲入れたベストアルバム "No Turning Back" をリリースしていて、ある意味それに近い新曲3曲にセルフカヴァー1曲に、ビートルズのカヴァー1曲と新録が5曲入ったベストアルバムと言ってもいいだろう。でも、今回のベスト "Then NOW Next" には Alan Frew のソロが2曲入っていたり、ちょっと収録曲と曲順が納得がいかない点があったり、収録時間が56分とあと3, 4曲は収録できたはずなんて不満もあったりするけど、そんなのどうでも良いと思えるくらい新曲とセルフカヴァーの "Thin Red Line (Reverence Mix)" が素晴らしいく、欲を言えばALL新曲のニューアルバムが聴きたかったかな。。。あと。気付いた点は "I Will Be There (Single Version)" が "No Turning Back" に収録されているヴァージョンとは違いイントロと中間部の所のギターをカットしていて、これはこれで新鮮で良いかな。なぜか13曲目からがボートラになっている。

"Thin Red Line (Reverence Mix)" は6月にリリースされた The Thin Red Line (Anniversary Edition) の Disc 2にも収録されていて、ビートルズのカヴァーはオマケと言ってもいいだろう。でも、このアルバム "Then NOW Next" に収録されている3曲の新曲 "I Take It Back", "Love Is On The Way", "Stand Up (Give Yourself a Hand)" に GLASS TIGER のこれからを感じさせ近い将来にニューアルバムが出るような予感がするほど本気なんだと感じさせられます。

原曲とはまったく違ったアプローチでアコースティックなアレンジの "Thin Red Line (Reverence Mix)" も本当に素晴らしく、そして、個人的に何よりも素晴らしいと思ったのが新曲の "I Take It Back" です!!! Alan Frew の伸び伸びとした高音でエモーショナルなヴォーカルとキーボードが印象的なポジティブにさせる曲で、新たな次元に GLASS TIGER というバンドを導いているように思います!!! by - SonicWhite -
